MORGION Sign With DARK SYMPHONIES RECORDS
July 12, 2003Californian death-doomsters MORGION have inked a deal with Dark Symphonies Records. The group will enter the studio on July 18 with producer Mathias Schneeberger to begin recording their third full-length album, "Cloaked By Ages, Crowned In Earth", for a tentative early 2004 release. "Cloaked By Ages, Crowned In Earth" will mark the band's debut release since their split with Relapse Records, who issued MORGION's previous two full-length efforts, 1997's "Among Majestic Ruin" and 1999's "Solinari".
The following is MORGION's official statement regarding the Dark Symphonies deal:
"Following the Doomination Of Europe tour in February and a new demo submission, MORGION received a lot of interest from labels around the world. Following the drama with our last label outing, we were intent on a label with integrity, a label who doesn't have seventy-five bands in the roster, and a label that gives the appropriate amount of attention and focus to each and every band they sign. We found all this and more in Dark Symphonies. After speaking with them weekly for the last few months discussing our similar likes and dislikes, goals for the band and the new album, they have made themselves a clear and obvious choice. These guys truly believe in everything they do, and are perfect to take on the new MORGION album. The deal has been in the works for quite some time now, and we are [now] proud to announce the official news!"
MORGION will be teaming up with MOURNING BELOVETH, THE PROPHECY and ORODRUIN for the upcoming Doomination of America tour, set to kick off next month.
